Family Plates – Account & Data Deletion

Family Plates respects your right to control your personal data. This page explains how to delete your account, how to delete specific data without closing your account, and how to contact us if you need additional help.

1. Delete Your Full Account

You can permanently delete your account directly from within the app. Deleting your account removes your profile and all associated data from our systems (see Section 4 for details).

  1. Open the Family Plates app on your device.
  2. Tap the Profile tab at the bottom of the screen.
  3. Scroll down and tap Delete Account.
  4. Read the confirmation prompt and tap Confirm to permanently delete your account.

This action is permanent. Once confirmed, your account and data cannot be recovered.

2. Delete Specific Data Without Closing Your Account

If you only want to remove certain content, you can do so without deleting your account:

Recipes

  1. Open the recipe you want to delete.
  2. Tap the edit (pencil) icon.
  3. Tap Delete Recipe and confirm.

You can also remove individual ingredients or steps from a recipe using the same edit screen.

Meal Plans

  1. Go to your Weekly Plan.
  2. Long-press or swipe a meal entry to reveal the remove option.
  3. Tap Remove to unschedule that meal.

Shopping Lists

  1. Open the Shopping tab.
  2. To remove individual items, swipe left on an item and tap Delete.
  3. To delete an entire list, open the list, tap the menu icon, and select Delete List.

3. Request Manual Deletion

If you are unable to use the in-app options, or if you would like us to delete specific data on your behalf, you can submit a request by email:

Important: Deleting your Family Plates account does not automatically cancel your Google Play subscription. You must cancel your subscription separately through the Google Play Store to stop future billing charges.

To cancel your subscription on Android:

  1. Open the Google Play Store app.
  2. Tap your profile icon > Payments & subscriptions > Subscriptions.
  3. Select Family Plates and tap Cancel subscription.
